Well, have just realised how long it is since I posted on here! The nights are drawing in and we can’t think of a better way to spent a cold evening than by our fires with a glass of wine in your hand, and a lovely meal in front of you! Have you checked out our Christmas menus? Christmas Day is nearly sold out already so I’d advise quick bookings!
St Georges Day

We are planning a big party to celebrate St Georges Day this year. We will be serving a locally sourced dinner menu which will include English Classics, and then have a DJ and quiz on later in the evening. Fancy dress in a medeival theme is optional but definitely reccommended!
The party later on is free to anyone, but meals should be booked in advance.

Hope you all had a fantastic New Years Eve. Ours was a great success. We spent most of New Years Day cleaning up and recovering but it was well worth it.
We are closed from Monday 3rd January, and reopen on Friday 7th at 6pm.
We look forward to seeing you soon at the pub, and wish you all a very happy and prosperous 2011.

New Menus

The new lunch and dinner menus are online now. So far the favourites are, at dinner, the Local Saddle of Lamb with a little Shepherds Pie, and at lunch, the Steak and Ale Pie. Special mention should also go to the Yorkshire Platter, which includes a delicious Pork Pie from Voakes at Whixley. There would seem to be a definite pie theme going on!!
