How to find us
The Dawnay Arms is on the main road as you pass through Newton on Ouse. When arriving in the area, generally follow the signs for Cars to Beningbrough Hall, as this route takes you directly past the pub.
From YorkHead North on the A19 for 2 miles beyond the A1237 / York ring road. Turn left off the A19 just before the village of Shipton by Beningbrough, and left over the railway. Travel a further 1.5 miles and turn left. Follow this road into Newton on Ouse, and The Dawnay Arms is in front of you.
From A1 NorthExit the A1 at junction 48 and follow the sign into Boroughbridge. Take the B6265 from Boroughbridge south towards York. After 3-4 miles turn left into Great Ouseburn and pass through, taking the first left turn after the village. Follow for 1 mile, and after crossing the Aldwark toll bridge (40p), take the immediate right and follow through Linton on Ouse and into Newton on Ouse, The Dawnay Arms is situated on your right.
From A1 SouthExit the A1 at Junction 47. Turn right for York and the A59. After 3 miles, turn left onto the B6265. After 2 miles turn right into Little Ouseburn and at the T junction at the end of the village, turn left.  After half a mile turn right and follow for another  1 mile. After  crossing the Aldwark toll bridge (40p), take the immediate right and follow through Linton on Ouse and into Newton on Ouse, The Dawnay Arms is situated on your right.
