About Us
The Dawnay Arms was built in1779, and is situated in the picturesque village of Newton on Ouse,at the gates to Beningbrough Hall. It sits in the main road through the village, with a large garden to the rear, which stretches down to the river.

Martel and Kerry Smith both come from Scarborough, though in recent years have been working in Leeds. They bought the pub at auction in May 2007, after a long search for the perfect pub. The Dawnay Arms had been closed for 18 months, and was in need of a lot of TLC., but the potential was still obvious. With invaluable help from family and friends, the pub was refurbished, and reopened in September 2007.

We hope to have moorings in place by the end of April, but for any further information on arriving by boat, please contact us on 01347 848345.
